Ever After

Belly (10) arrives in a distant land with her parents, feeling uprooted in her new surroundings. At school she faces teasing and isolation, and her parents' growing arguments leave her feeling caught in the middle. Belly escapes into a dreamy underwater garden. There, in the depths of this mysterious world, she feels at peace, drawn to the idea of transforming into a mermaid. But relief from the world above requires a painful sacrifice.
