“Sylvia sounds similar to Sophia, Robyn is from Robin Hood.” The constant transformations, discoveries, self-definitions, and reinventions of the self have a beginning but no middle and no end as the emergence and construction of what we are, what our gender is, and how we can communicate with the outside and others, are in the making. Can our bodies and desires be put into words, and what might they be each time? For Sylvia, the biggest thing would be to manage to talk and have someone listen to her.
